MODS for pure mage.

I have the regen mod, the spell reduce mod, Wakims Game Improvments, Sris Alchemy, (im debating whether or not to use this..I love the mod, but a pure mage shouldnt have to rely on alchemy, they shouyld only have to rely on spells.) Are their any other mods though? Ive never had a pure character theyve always had a mix of combat, magic, and stealth classes and Im very excited about this pure mage because they are supposed to be harder to play, and I need a challenge.

Oh yeah, I do need one waepon class, should I do blunt or spears? I want to use staffs, but Im not sure which one makes use of the staff.

Sorry if this should be in the Morrowind section, but it mainly has to do with mods so....

I don't know of any other plugins for you to use, but the staff is a blunt weapon.

if you're planning on being Telvanni, might I suggest Uvirith Inside, and when it's done, Uvirith Awakened? They make Tel Uvirith THE home for any self-respecting mage...

There are only two skills that will train your intelligence and thus increase your Magicka. One of those is Alchemy. That and a Mage needs to know herbalism, if nothing else than for spell components.

As for weapon, I actually recommend short blade, or even more crippling - bare hands. Taking blunt makes those two handed 6th house hammers SO tempting. Especially when you kill things faster with the damned mallet than your spells.

Magical Trinkets of Tamriel has mant items designed with the "pure mage" class in mind, specifically to make that class more viable. You can check out the readme at http://www.cs.okstate.edu/~woodsc/mtt/two_readme.html to determine if it looks right for you.

I think that Uvirith Inside includes Srikandi's Homepathic Alchemy mod, and it's completely compatible with Uvirith Unleashed (you gotta love it).

Aragon did a good job of pulling a lot of information together.

I use, or have used, a lot of the same mods Vorwoda uses. I like Dynamic Magicka Regeneration (I think it's v.2 now).

And that doesn't even BEGIN to cover the mods I used (all of Rhedd's heads, for instance) that just change the way my characters look.

Proudfoot did a great weapon mod that has a couple of very cool-looking staff weapons, if you're going the classic mage route:

You're right, Uvirith Inside does include Sri's Alchemy for standard Morrowind. Awakened will include the version for TB also, and there will be a script .esp added in also to allow the alchemy desk to use BM items along with it... that is, if I can get it working properly...

you could also use my adjustable magicka regen mod, i just put it up on my site today, under the adjustments page.

In short, it uses your willpower to determine a speed at which you regenerate magicka, but also uses your max magicka to determine a solid rate to regenerate at.

e.g. at 50 willpower on the 1% setting, you will take 200 seconds to fully regenerate your magicka, on the 0.1% setting, it will take 2000 seconds at that same willpower. at 100 it's half the time.

Of course, I've been reading about Wizards Island for a while. Ill probably try out your mod to GlassBoy, the regen mod I have now doesnt work. Even, if i do startscript "MagickaRegen" like it says to in the read me.

Rhea: Thanks for that link to the Mage Page. I hadn't seen it before. Most of it is common sense, but there's some good character creation analysis there that would help first-time Mages, and some very good RP ideas for veterans as well!

And I use Proudfoot's staves, as well. Shame on me for forgetting to mention it!

can't believe I missed this before. its very wrong.

Intelligence can be increased by:
Alchemy
Conjuration
Enchant
Security

Willpower can be increased by all other spell casting skills.
